Wow, Nintendo just made a dick joke

Cheeky email for upcoming DSiXL looks like spam, but links to new promotional materials

Words: on March 16, 2010

Nintendo's wholesome, family friendly image apparently doesn't extend to my Inbox, where this morning I found an email asking me a rather personal question - "What would you like 93% bigger?" What indeed.

Above: LOL I GUESS

The video links to a Nintendo-hosted survey of a bunch of people in Los Angeles. Naturally their answers are squeaky clean and fit well within Nintendo's audience, but I really would like to know how many they had to edit out. You can check the Facebook and Twitter links as well. In case you're wondering, this is all in preparation for the launch of the Nintendo DSiXL, which is, obviously, 93% bigger than the Lite.

The XL lands March 28 in the US for $189.99. It's luxuriously large, perfect for playing DS at home and anytime you're going to be bound to one location. On the road, you might want to stick with the sleeker Lite and DSi, but that's part of the plan - the XL isn't meant to replace the old DS units but exist alongside them, offering a new option for playing at home or those whose hands and eyes would vastly prefer something larger than the tiny DS Lite.

    @Romination

    I see where your coming from. The continous flow of articles is fantastic and we understand that it's next to impossible to keep these sort of spurts top quality but maybe you should just save the tiny tidbits like these as podcast fodder.
    I <3 you GR

    @Ravenbom
    no, 93% bigger is still bigger. You multiply by 93% and then add that to the original. Otherwise, a company's profit being up 48% is a drop, and that's a stupid thing to lie about.

    I'm not too fond of these daily articles. I'd rather you focused on something big and awesome, like you USED to do more, and less on 'well heres an entire article on how A DICK JOKE'

    I'm pretty sure they mean 193% bigger because 93% is actually smaller.

    They should've gone all-out and made it a legitimate viral campaign, with "real" fake Viagra-for-DS e-mails and banner ads.`

    This goes along perfectly with the "touching is good" mantra they had with the original DS.
