Vengeance takes centre stage in Ryse TV spot

Microsoft has released a new TV spot for Xbox One launch game Ryse: Son of Rome. In development at Crytek, the Roman revenge tale tells the story of Marius Titus, a young soldier who rises through the ranks of the army motivated by his desire to avenge the murder of his family at the hands of barbarian bandits.

Ryse will also offer a cooperative multiplayer experience called Gladiator mode, which sees players battling it out against an evolving horde of enemies in the Coliseum. The action game from Crytek will launch along with Xbox One on November 22. If the title piques your interest, you might want to check out the newly announced Ryse live action series. Debuting on Machinima on November 5, Ryse Son of Rome: The Fall is a four part digital series told through the eyes of the game’s protagonist.

This game is just like Zombie U. Everyone is hyping it up like it's a reason to buy a system, but it's going to be extremely forgettable.

really? nobody has been hyping up Ryse apart from the guys who made it. Everyone else is hyping it down big-time. In fact Ive never seen so many negative preview articles for one game- most previewers try to maintain neutrality

Who is excited for this game? Even the promotional material narrator sounds bored.

There is nothing else to hype. If this came out two years from now, it would be instant bargain bin fodder. But with so few launch titles to compete with, it is a "blockbuster". I think it will actually do quite well in sales simply because people who are buying Xbones early will want SOMETHING to play that shows off next gen eye candy.
