Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3’s expanded roster is full of wonderfully strange additions, and now one of the most confusing finally gets showcased in these new trailers. Some might have thought adding Phoenix Wright was niche, but that’s nothing compared to Rocket Raccoon. Perhaps 99% of readers haven’t heard of the space-faring animal-man, but those dissatisfied should find solace in today’s other gameplay reveal for Frank West.

Dead Rising’s Frank looks pretty accurate in his trailer, with zombie throws, wrestling moves, and baseball bats. It’s great that his rest pose is always holding his camera and it seems he even does damage by taking an opponent’s photo. Though we like his specials that included combo weapons and chainsaws, our favorite has to be shoving a Servbot head on an enemy and then helicopter spinning them. Now that Frank’s finally in the game, he looks to be fitting in great.

If that trailer of Rocket Raccoon looking like a total badass didn’t sell you on the character, we don’t know what will. A very minor character until a few years ago, Rocket joined the Guardians of the Galaxy and attempts to keep the cosmic peace. The outwardly cute alien is an expert in most weapons, making him a dangerous (though loyal) operative. With his big moves and short stature he could end up being a real challenge, and we hope the rest of the gaming world comes to love him as much as we do.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 comes out for PS3 and 360 November 15.

Rocket Raccoon is the reason i'm buying this game, he's my favourite comic book character of all time.

Oddjob, anyone? But in all seriousness, I think one of Rocket's specials should have a cameo from Groot. Just imagine, "I AM GROOT" and this huge ent-foot smashes down on Ryu.

I'll make a fur coat out of you. I approve of this portrayal of Rocket Raccoon.

Another tiny hitbox. i like it.

OK, both these characters are awesome, but Brett and Seth need to come on the podcast and explain why-out of the thousands of characters Marvel has to offer-Capcom chose to include Rocket Raccoon. I mean, he looks like a ridiculously awesome fighter, but....seriously, Rocket Raccoon??

I totally called the announcement being today since Skillian dropped the hint on twitter, although I feel like the announcement could have reached ungodly hype if they saved it to be RR + Phoenix W. On a side note, Seeing Brett on the Capcom live streams still strikes a really weird chord in me. Just seems... wrong. He does look stylin in that servbot headset though.

Exactly. PW and RR being announced together would have double-handedly broken the Internet. Also my face would have melted from too much awesome at once.

Well rocket looks like a blast

Man, BOTH of these characters look so friggin' boss, although Rocket Raccoon currently holds my favor for his excellent voice, and his friggin' nuke hyper. "AIR STRIKE, SUCKAS!" Also, did anyone else here see RR's win quote vs Chris Redfield? It is, quite possibly, the funniest thing that I have seen all day.
  • Shiza411 - October 31, 2011 4:31 p.m.

    Is that Frank West's voice?
  • bl00dyvalen7ine - October 31, 2011 4:30 p.m.

Oh man! it's no wonder they waited to reveal Rocket Raccoon until last, he looks bad ass!
