Ethan from Heavy Rain? Are you being serious right now? Because if you are, you're pretty fucking stupid.
  • aaron-shaw - October 22, 2012 11:43 p.m.

    Marston is there.
  • MaxPower - October 21, 2012 3:59 p.m.

Some good ones IMO would be the Prince from Katamari Damacy, Goku from any DBZ game (if anime related characters are allowed), Llyod from Tales of Symphonia, Spyro the Dragon, Cecil from FFIV or Red from the orginal Pokemon Games.

My vote is for Duke Nukem to be number one... cus he is always number one... even when he is also 62
  • Apastron - October 21, 2012 3:07 p.m.

His last outing was more of a number two.
  • Hobogonigal - October 22, 2012 1:40 a.m.

Actually, it was more of a six...out of ten ;)

What about Chris Redfield? In my opinion one of the two original characters from Resident Evil deserves to be there. Personally I think Chris' story from S.T.A.R.S. member caught up in the Spencer mansion incident shifting his personal goal to rid the world of bioterrorism and the Umbrella corporation. Having to save his sister Claire from the Umbrella corporation at one point and standing up to Albert Wesker numerous times knowing he was no match for him yet trying for the greater good no matter what. Looking for Jill Valentine who was presumed dead at the time and having to save the world from Wesker and fnally break down upon the loss of his teammates.. I feel Chris' story is a sad yet strong tale and feel that he is worth a place in the top 100 game characters. Regardless of what people thought of Resident Evil 5 lets all remember there was Resident Evil games before number 4 :P

I think that you could make a pretty good argument for any of the Left 4 Dead characters, in 1 and 2. However, in terms of being a badass, I would honestly have to disagree with it being Francis. Even if he does hate everything, and looks cool doing it, no one does sarcasm and pessimism like Nick. Come on, he keeps his freaking coat almost stain free the entire time, he has a shady past, and yet, he is still willing to risk his life for three other people that he barely knows.

While I wouldn't agree with everything on the list, they do a good job of backing up all there claiming. They even made Nathan Drake sound like a reasonable choice whom I'd normally consider just a typical hero archetype. I think James Sunderland (Silent Hill 2) deserves a spot because of his psychological complexity and wutnot.
