The Riddler is more mysterious than ever in new Batman: Arkham City promo art

Check out the latest piece of promotional art for Batman: Arkham City – The Riddler decked out in black, white and, of course, a dastardly dash of green. His trademark question marks are everywhere, from the pattern on his back (condescendingly turned towards the viewer in true narcissistic Nigma fashion) to the custom cane (and probable sheathed weapon) he grips in his gloved hands.

We knew the puzzle-obsessed villain would play a larger role in Arkham City based on the teaser trailer I saw at GDC in March and the audio tape I found at E3 earlier this month, but this official poster image emphasizes just how important and intricate to the plot Edward Nigma will be. He joins major characters like Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Penguin in receiving developer Rocksteady’s signature stark style. Robin was revealed with similar art last week.

Looking for more information on The Riddler’s role in Batman: Arkham City? The cassette interview mentioned earlier really is a must listen for fans of the franchise – it includes tantalizing new details on not only Edward Nigma, but Hugo Strange and Mayor Quincy Sharp as well. Hint: One of these men is hypnotizing the other!

I can't wait for this game to come out!

@Jessewebster I totally agree. I would love to buy each of these in high-quality, full poster size.

"...all of the answers are Strange." While I do like how they made E. Nigma point out his own knowledge of the situation while also making it a riddle, it was a real groaner for me. At least this villain is shaping up to be more than "Signal traced: please listen to this lunatic's final challenges before the cops stop him from doing anything bad" in Arkham City.

Grew up on batman the animated series, riddler is my favorite villian and always loved batman AND robin which I'm surprised isn't to common. Still have the toys in a box in the garage. I can't wait for this game now! Plus if anyone's a fashion student and wants to make me the jacket of the riddler's I'd much appreciate it! Tis sick!!

I can't help but comment on that awesome staff/cane in the picture. The Riddler is going to be just as much of a pain to Strange as Bats is, methinks...

i have arkham asylum on PC (got it for 7.50 on steam!!), LOVE IT! so much. i think there should be more developers that make a few fan-fucking-tastic games rather than pumping shit out year after year. and i also agree with @jessewebster, i want all of these, high gloss, full sized to permanently put on my wall.

That picture isn't accurate. It isn't the Riddler. It's Matthew Lesco. Also inaccurate: "[the Riddler] joins major characters like Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Penguin." Harley Quinn is the only major character. Everyone else are just pointless side-stories.

I love these promotion shots that they are doing. They are unique and striking to look at. They could easily sells these as posters if they wanted to.

I just finished Arkham Asylum, and I absolutely LOVED the Riddler. Totally psyched for this now, especially knowing there's going to be both LOADS more Riddler, AND MORE Harley Quinn.
