This post is in response to the Tony Hawk signed skateboard. We were asked for our favorite tony hawk moment or memory of him. When I started skating in 87 my very first pro model was the Tony Hawk bird skull from Powell Peralta. Back in those days there were very few skate companies that had really good team riders and Powell had some of the best. As a kid we would go to the local skate shop and rent any P&P video that came out. Vert skating wasn't something I was good at but Tony Hawk was always progressing and making up tricks on vert. During the early console generations there were skateboarding games but they were always complete and utter ass. I remember the first time I saw THPS on the Dreamcast and I remember thinking that this is what skateboarding should be like on a console. Unfortunately they ran the game into the ground through later iterations. I had skated for over 15 years until I was seriously injured while in the military and had to have back surgery. After the surgery it was found out that I had severe nerve damage in my left leg(which for me was the leg I used to control all my flip tricks) and ever since I haven't been able to really get back in skateboarding. It's been hard to adjust to something you spent half your life doing but I still always check out the magazines when I'm at the store or watch videos when the leak online. I don't think TH Ride is going to progress skateboarding on consoles. In my opinion Activision should've ripped off Skate and went with the realistic controls instead of putting you on a fake skateboard. It will work for the people that do skate but I feel that's about the only people that will care. I hope this long winded story gets me the signed Tony Hawk board. It will good on my wall. Thanks T-Dar crew. Can't wait for this Friday's podcast.

Yeah, that was good, I liked the C&C music the background in the beginning, (of course the David Wise music as well). One of the first things I did when I checked out Last.FM on my 360 was searched for OC Remix radio station. I love those guys and the remixes they do are almost entirely awesome. I never got a shout out as a new user a while ago but I've got enough self esteem to not care so much. I think Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 will always be in my heart since it was my childhood and they were really good games but man Wise really did a great job with the music, (I esp love all the underwater levels as well). Rock on guys!

A great top 7 and nearly 3 hours of content? Seems like torture that I have to wait until I get my laptop back until I can listen to this gold.

  • DeadGirls - November 21, 2009 11 a.m.

You guys need a fucking PC gamer on your staff. Sometimes you say/write embarrassing things and you don't know it.
  • TedDidlio - November 21, 2009 9:07 a.m.

Another week, another almost 3 hours of downright hilarious content. I know I write a similar little thank you every week as of late, but I feel it's necessary. The hours and hours you guys all put in, to not just record it, but polish it into a lavish, gleaming, grandiose production, (that, if I needed to, I would pay for) do not go unappreciated. Thank you yet again for making the end of my week stop sucking prolapsed hooker rectum, which the beginning of my week did, and usually does on an average week. So thanks guys.
  • Aforextreme - November 21, 2009 7:41 a.m.
