Ouch. I'm sorry to hear that, Justin. Stay away from the MadCatz; the build quality on their stuff is terrible, it'll fall apart on you post haste. Here's to hoping the Fanatec stuff works with next-gen; if it does, I'm going to spring for one. Amazing hardware, that.

Sorry that you had to deal with that kind of problem. It really sucks when new hardware is actually a downgrade. Maybe you could try actual racing. Karts are fun or you could try a dirt figure 8 track. They are big were I live. And if you are really bored, you could try racing Dave or Matt to the online store to be the first to purchase the next great thing or racing them in a foot race to the local store.

I know your pain Justin. Originally I bought my 360 for racing games and a Joytech Nitro wheel to play them on. That was 2006 and over the years Ive been through five or six. Different problems including snapped internal parts, malfunctioning buttons and a weird fault that controls the car left if you turn the wheel to far to the right. Totally agree with Towelly and yfbc we need better quality peripherals.

Ouch, Justin, my heart goes out to you. In all honesty, I WOULD buy a PC--but if it's only for racing game peripherals, I'd shell out for the Madcatz wheel instead. I sorely hope you figure this out. Of all my years at GamesRadar, you've always been THEE racing guy.

That's a really unfortunate situation. I had a decent G27 set up myself for use with my PC and can vouch for the amazing experience you can have on F1 2011 with it. It really is a shame the the G27 couldn't be used with the Xbox 360 because I think it would have helped shift a few more of them purely for racing games (Forza and F1 spring to mind). I really hope Microsoft get their act together with peripherals for the next Xbox iteration, they need to be on par with the quality of the official controller.
