Though we enjoyed Beenox%26rsquo;s last Spidey game just fine, we weren%26rsquo;t totally sold on their next game, Edge of Time, as it sounded like half the dimensions of the last game stabled together to form a new title. After we saw it playable at E3 we began warming up to it, and now this Comic-Con trailer has increased our interest all the more. Maybe it%26rsquo;s the new time-travel mechanics, maybe it%26rsquo;s the appearance of a saucy, futuristic Black Cat, but whatever the cause, this trailer did its job.

Of the new features on display, we%26rsquo;re interested to see the gameplay and level implications with Spider-Man and his 2099 counterpart switching timelines. Tied into that time switch is Peter meeting 2099%26rsquo;s Black Cat (voiced by Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica), and you can tell this Black Cat is from the future because her suggestive outfit has blue lights on it. It%26rsquo;s a strange coincidence that Spidey and Batman will be dealing with their roguish, cat-based femme fatales in games this year, but Edge of Time hits store shelves October 4 in the US, two weeks before Arkham City, so maybe no one will notice.
