COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: TalkRadar listeners bring The Smurfs back to their horrifying roots

So, during our Cartoon Theme Song “Quiz” at the end of TalkRadar 108, The Smurfs were brought up as an old property that could make for a good game, a la Transformer: War for Cybertron. It was immediately dismissed with moans and groans. Sure, we grew up rapt with the Smurf phenomenon, but it’s certainly not one of those franchises that holds any sway with our nostalgia, in fact, it’s actually kinda embarrassing. But then, Mikel Reparaz proclaimed that The Smurfs arguably originated the modern Zombie. "Pshaw!" you say?! This is why one never doubts Wikiparaz:

Turns out to be true. Disregarding the living dead's roots in ancient folklore, “The Black Smurfs” horrifyingly depicted the struggle for survival against the “Walking Infected” five whole years before George Romero normally gets credited for the creation of the zombie trope.

Using that factoid as their only provocation, our wonderfully twisted listeners took it upon themselves to realize The Smurfs’ forgotten gory glory using mature games more than capable of handling the subject matter!

Well I think I can speak for my fellow photoshop artists that we all love to help contribute to the forums and the site. And of course to be spotlighted for our work on the main site is the icing on the cake. As long as Chris loves writing these articles, and you guys love them, my fellow artists will be happy to provide the graphics.

The Gears and the GTA ones made me crack up! Amazing how you can replace virtually any verb with smurf and it just works.

@GodofPS314 how old are you? you must have no idea about the smurfs. in smurf talk you can replace any verb or adjective. now for titles smurfed 4 dead or grand theft smurf would all work. also smurfville doesnt exist. they live in smurf village.

@GodofPS314: so you think that replacing words with smurf is garbage, and then you say that instead of being left4smurf it should be smurf4dead, that's pretty hypocritical. also, by that same logic, wouldn't "Smurf 4 Dead" make Smurf mean left

This article is lame, replacing words with the word Smurf is complete garbage. It should be Smurfs4Dead but instead it is Left4Smurfs so now SMurfs means dead? It should've been grand theft auto Smurfville. And another idea is Littlebigsmurfville.
