Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC coming to PS3 and PC in early 2013

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's new DLC, Dragonborn, will hit Xbox Live tomorrow--but the big news is where else it's landing. Bethesda today confirmed on its blog that Dragonborn will release on both PC and PlayStation 3 in early 2013, hopefully bringing an end to months of delays for PS3 players.

Bethesda didn't address when or if Dawnguard and Hearthfire (which made their way to PC after Xbox-exclusive launches) will arrive on PlayStation 3, commenting only that it has "more in the works" and will share details soon. The PS3 DLC has seen setback after setback owing to performance issues on the console, though the developer tweeted earlier this month that the standstill may be coming to an end.

Meanwhile, if you just can't wait a day to find out more about what awaits on the island of Solstheim, The Outhousers has posted a generous helping of content supposedly leaked from a beta tester. We won't go too crazy on speculation since the DLC is already beating on our doorsteps, but chief among the leaks is an achievement which confirms tameable, rideable dragons are happening.

Riding dragons on all three of Skyrim's platforms within the next few months? Damn it feels good to be a dovahkiin.

Bethesda DLC

If they ever release Dawnguard and Hearthfire for the PS3 they need to release them for free or at least a discount. Otherwise I think PS3 owners will be pissed even more for having to pay full price for something that the rest of the gaming world has already played for about like what a year?

I totally agree. I am a PS3 owner and I'll be livid if they think I'm going to pay for them, IF they come out at all. I hope that Bethesda will realize they screwed up and give them out for free. It would be the right thing to do.

Do PS3 users actually still CARE about Skyrim? Its great that Bethesda might actually get a DLC to the PS3 crowd (read: very skeptically) but there were two other DLC's which it looks like Bethesda has just given up on for a pretty decent portion of their customers, I wouldn't be surprised if no PS3 users bought this out of disgust for how the whole thing has been handled by Bethesda.

I think that once the DLC arrives for PS3 interest will rise again since they'll have new things to do in the game when the DLC arrives.

Agreed, I was hyped for the DLC on PS3 but after several months, I just gave up hope and went over to Far Cry 2 in preperation of Far Cry 3.

that is good to hear for ps3 users i am sorry you didnt come over to the xbox side but at least you finally get the dlc that you are somewhat entitled to

PC side is laughing at all of you still playing Bethesda games on consoles. (Don't try that expensive machine argument, mine's only $400)

i dont see a problem with playing skyrim on a console... i was just saying that i feel sorry for the ps3 users because bethesda didnt code the game properly for them... take your elitisst bullshit somewhere else i didnt even start talking about pcs u did... bet you feel stupid now
  • CrashmanX - December 4, 2012 6 p.m.

There was no elitist at all. PC isn't having the issues that consoles are. PC is objectively better for Skyrim than either console for various reasons, that's not elitism. As far as problems with Skryim on consoles, bugs and low quality are the main ones. Both PS3 and 360 have a good amount of bugs and both of them are played on "Low Quality".

i like to play it on the console i feel its more fluid and there is less hassle with it... i dont have any respect for people who pick fights... leave me alone

    -_- I wasn't picking a fight. I was making a joke.
