Saints Row: The Third trailer redefines ridiculous as man and zombie duet while running over people

We’ve talked up how screwed up Saints Row: The Third often. There are flying bikes, giant dildos, a Japanese cat man, and men dressed as hot dogs, and at the same time the extreme violence went beyond graphic into cartoonish. But just when we thought we had the game figured out, THQ sends us a video of a gangster and a zombie running over people in a car while they sing along to a song by 90s reggae band Sublime. Things just went off the rails…

We really have run out of words for Saints Row: The Third. Just for the sake of our sanity we hope that this is the last trailer for the game we get, as our minds can’t take much more. It's just… man…

It doesnt seem like they changed the car custimization from SR2. Kind of a pitty, even though the one from SR2 was good, there is always room for improvement.

I had my money ready for this on the first annoncement that it was coming out, still so hyped and the 15th seems so far away... this and skyrim, I can't wait.

The video didn't warn against shooting people from said car and hitting them with the car. Can I do that?

After watching the GTA5 trailer today and then watching this, there's no doubt in my mind that they're not trying to directly compete with one another. That being said, SR3 looks like it'll be a lot more fun than GTA5 to me.

This trailer perfectly captures why I prefer Saints Row to GTA. I'm sure GTAV will be good. I'm willing to bet that it'll be a contender for GOTY in whatever far-flung future year it comes out. But it has become far too serious for me. I want to blast around in my personally pimped-out car, knee-capping furries with my Ben Hur wheels. This is gonna be a tough 2 weeks.

Totally agree. This is closer to San Andreas than GTA IV was. Rockstar have changed GTA into something different, and Violation have taken over where they left off, and then gone crazy with it. There's definitely a place for serious open world games, but this is just so much more entertaining to me.

Motion blur FTL... Still looks fun as heck though!

There are no words to describe how great this game looks

I think Saints Row left the rails and never looked back a long time ago. And I hope they never do because this game just keeps looking better and better and I can't wait for the 15th.
