Podcast: TalkRadar UK #52

Listen now...

Hello loyal GamesRadar readers. And the other folk who just so happened to stumble over here for our back-catalogue of booth babes. It's the time of week where your ears are treated to the beautiful tones of the TalkRadar UK team as they attempt to fill you in on all manner of things from the gaming universe. "Like what?" we hear you cry. Like this we answer...

- Gamescom news round-up: Find out what has caused a stir in our loins at this year's Cologne show. Including an interesting mental image of Lionhead's Peter Molyneux and EA's Peter Moore as ye olde wizards.

- Appreciation Section: We still can't think of a better name for this section, but this week Dave H pours his heart out over Secret of Mana. This...

- Question of the Week: We bumble through our answers to 'What's your favourite game of 2010 so far' and read out the more coherent responses from you, the reader/listener. <Updated 20th August 2010> Next week's Question of the Week... Which game reminds you most of your childhood and why?

- The GamesRadar Hotline: Lots of texts not so many phone calls these days. We miss your lovely voices. Even the ones that sounded like you were ringing from down a well.

- What we've been playing: Which involves Justin showing off about nearly being 100% complete with Super Mario Galaxy 2. Brilliantly, it looks like that final level is going to be a right pain in the arse for him. HA!

- BONUS CONTENT ALERT!!1!1: This is our walk to the studio each week. It's worth watching for Cundy's impromptu tribute to Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks sketch.

GamesRadar Hotline

Right, here's the deal... DO: Send us game related questions/trivia or a confession. Ensure that your  text isn't a small essay. DON'T: Send us chain texts, jokes or requests asking for a job. Got it? So with the serious crap out of the way, please do drop us a line we'll play your dulcet tones across the airwaves via the wonders of technology. Or simply drop us a text. We love hearing from you guys. All calls and texts charged at your local standard rate.

I would like to see more PSP stuff! I only got a PSP the other month, and only have two games for it so far. Also I thought about it more, and I do love Scott Pilgrim so. I can honestly say it has been more fun for me since release than anything else this year. Bioshock 2 and SMG 2 would be up there as well though I suppose. Great cast guys!

Lol at NearNRiver - it was really great, wasn't it? As a 7-year-old, that bit at the end of Mossflower was one of the most nailbiting things ever! I dunno, just because it hasn't got pasties in it... And I can confirm - I finally got the last star! Now I can get on with my life :)

I CAN"T BELIVE ONLY ONE OF YOU TOSSERS KNOWS WHAT REDWALL IS! YOU JUST TURNED MY CHILDHOOD INTO "SOMETHING YOUR DAD MADE UP WHILE HE WAS LOOKING AT A PORNO MAGAZINE!" Love the podcast, great job guys.

I love the videos that we've been seeing lately! And BTW, Justin. That is one badass leather jacket. I find it weird that you seem like a badass with your guitar and leather jacket but then your voice is really nice and soothing :P

I hate hearing Brits pronouncing Japanese words. They sound even worse than Americans. Even words that we've heard pronounced countless times, like "Naruto" and "hadouken," get savaged, especially in Britain. I've always remembered the way Sean Connery pronounces Tanaka in You Only Live Twice, and no one seems to have improved since then. On a more Brit-friendly note, I would like to try some of these fabled pasties. I need a trip to Cornwall, I think.
