I love the Lakers, but they'll need some huge games from Blake, Jamison, Clark & Co. to get past San Antonio. Anyway, I think Miami will sweep their way up until the Eastern Finals, where they'll get a tougher-than-expected test against NYK, but they'll win 4-2 or something. In the West, OKC is the (pretty freaking obvious) favorite, but I don't think it's unrealistic to see Denver somehow riding their no-superstar show up to the Finals, or LAC catching fire at the right moment, or even SA suddenly getting healthy. But in the end I think it will be a rematch, which will definitely be closer than last year's, but unless OKC plays 5 or 6 perfect games, Miami should repeat. Which doesn't make me happy one bit. But hey, gotta give credit where it's due.

Based on the last round of games it looks like LAC are well up for these Playoffs. Should make a potential OKC vs LAC second-round VERY tasty!

1st Round; OKC Clippers Golden State Lakers Heat Bulls Pacers Knicks 2nd Round Clippers Lakers Heat Knicks Semifinals Lakers (by one game.) Heat Finals To me, it's a tossup. It could go either way. To EVERYONE'S surprise, the one Heat/Laker game this season was pretty close, with a couple of turnovers in the 4th costing the game. Then again, Kobe was there. As a Laker fan, I realize statistically, we shouldn't get past the 2nd round (we're beating the Spurs, without a doubt. With experience, comes age. Their bigs are going to have a hard time against Dwight AND Pau, just like they did a week ago, with that abysmal 34% shooting night against the Lakers. Parker and Duncan played, and they were utterly terrible. Ginobli was still out, but I feel like the result would've been the same.) but the X factor will be the utter determination this team now has to make Kobe proud. They made the SEVENTH seed; something that seemed impossible halfway through the season. They're motivated, and who knows what could happen.

Man i think the Lakers are way overrated even with Kobe. I see a MIA vs. LAC final. Hoping for a Clipper win (though that probably won't happen) even if i'm in the east coast. just don't want to see miami win again.

You guys mention in the western finals that "you can't predict what will happen when two giant egos like Kobe and Dwight try to squeeze onto the same court" but Kobe is injured for the rest of the season.

You make a good point, but this was in reference to the fact that 2K13 clearly decides the stats for each team based on raw data, and can't account for psychology. So, when it simulates the playoffs, it's just crunching data - which doesn't reflect form or (to an extent) starting line-ups. Kobe is a massive loss to LA's chances for sure.

This is David Stern dream final. But won't happen. Spurs sweeping Lakers is much more likely than Lakers going to the finals. My prediction: OKC vs Miami finals again, sadly Miami wins again...

    That's my prediction as well.

even if i wasn't a nuggets fan, i would have a hard time believing golden state could/will win in 5. and the lakers well...i'm in my second season in 'the association', howard went to the pistons in FA, nash retired, and the lakers started 2-23. lmao.

As a Laker fan this simulation pleases me. Though of course the most unrealistic part of the whole thing is Derrick Rose making a comeback. That guy needs to stop being such a damn pussy and play, he was medically cleared three months ago.

it seems that nba 2k13 didn't watch the lakers play this year;)

Clippers/Grizzlies and Nets/Bulls are too close to call and i think both series will go to 7. Can't see past an OKC/Miami final, although if Miami meet the Pacers it could get interesting.

After the season they've had in addition to the fact that Kobe isn't on the roster, it would be shocking if the Lakers made it past the first round of the playoffs.
