My Little Pony Skyrim mod pours one for the Bronies

Newton's law of motion states that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. We're not sure how this applies to video gaming, but it's the only way to explain how two weeks ago we came across this, and now we're looking at... well... this:

The My Little Pony mod (real name “Pony Dragon Mod”) was created by suspected brony "zdzichorowerzysta". As the video demonstrates, it replaces Bethesda's dragons with the Fluttershy character from the updated My Little Pony animated show. If you like what you see (or if you'd like to shoot down what you see), go ahead and downloaded it at Skyrimnexus. We won't tell anyone.

Of course, if you think you can do better, Bethesda this week confirmed the official Skyrim Creation Kit will be out for PC modders later this month. The first person to make a Skyrim Muppet mod wins our undying love and respect*.

Oh god, that is so awesome. I love how whenever they get too far away from the character/ camera, they just turn back into normal dragons xD

I'm guessing they pulled that heavy guitar riff right out of the show.

I couldn't have the heart to attack a Fluttershy trying to kill me! Now I must wait for them to replace Odaving with Fluttershy or Rainbow dash and mod a hat for my Applejack horse. Bronies Unite! /)(\

A show can gain a fandom beyond it's target audience. Yes, MLP is a franchise meant to sell little girls toys but the show is respectably animated, generally well written, and most of all it's just fun. You don't have to be a little girl to appreciate those things. And honestly I'm glad that there's such a huge community of fans of this show who are not afraid to say they enjoy it. "Bronies" (Not fond of the term, but it's no worse than "Trekkies") can be pushy somethings and try to convince folk who are not all that interested into watching the show but what's the difference between that and trying to convince folk to play a game you like, read a book you like, watch a film you like, ETC. It's not a hard concept to understand really. People like something, they want others to like that thing, they try to bring that thing together with another thing they like. It happens with every fandom. Honestly, I'm just surprised it took them just long.

    I can't kill fluttershy...ever
  • r200reviews - January 19, 2012 3:06 p.m.

I guess they're nothing if not menacing.
  • Limbo - January 19, 2012 2:29 p.m.

As if Fluttershy would ever kill anything D: It should be Rainbow Dash. Sonic Rainboom-ing that's scary.
  • ChaosEternal - January 19, 2012 2:17 p.m.

Awesome. Now I can brutally slaughter the things that have been annoying me for weeks through my Brony friend. Who is now blocked on Steam. Should have done that weeks before I finally decided to. Nothing worse than playing a game and being interrupted with a message to watch some video related to MLP. D:<

    Skyrim is magic.

Their death chants of "Yaaay" are too creepy for me. O.O

Big fan of the show but I didn't find this anywhere nearly as funny as the Randy Savage mod.
  • cgriff63 - January 19, 2012 12:28 p.m.

I really wish they kept the regular dragon noises though. That would have made this at least 10x more ridiculous
  • babyface - January 19, 2012 12:05 p.m.

Ah and more adults obsessing over a girls pony show! Poor humanity!
  • TheCakeIsaPie - January 19, 2012 12:22 p.m.

Don't make judgments like that until you've watched the show for yourself. "MLP" is a very good cartoon in its own right. Who cares if it was meant for little girls? It can be enjoyed by everyone on its own merits.

As someone who HAS seen the show (i.e., much of the first season), I can tell you that it was a decent cartoon - certainly not great and far from the second coming that the many obnoxious bronies of the internet make it out to be. With that said, I have a lot of indifference towards the show and franchise, but you bronies... by the Eight and One, are you guys annoying! Can't go anywhere on the internet without having some brony shove a Pinkie Pie macro or a Fluttershy avatar down my throat!
  • EnragedTortoise1 - January 19, 2012 4:33 p.m.

Wow... so many anti-bronies on this site. I am gonna love and tolerate the shit out of you guys. OT: I could never kill Fluttershy. Ever.
