Steal a Base
If you have fast runner, like Yoshi, this will work well. If you are on 1st base & want to go to 2nd before the pitcher pitches, press Y right before he/she/it throws it.

Special Pitches and Hits
Curve Balls -- Hold in L & R & press A & down on the stick and hold in the speed pitch button.
Fast Curve Balls -- Hold in L & R & press B & X and hold down the C Stick.
Hit Home Runs Everytime -- Only the team captains can hit farthest but it works on the other characters too. Hold in the Power Hit as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand get ready to hit hard, when it comes in about 2 inches from the plate pull back and press the power hit button 2 times.

When pitching hold R and A but you can only use it a few times so use wisely.

Better Pitches
To get better pitches, all you have to do is charge up, then let go of the A button right before he pitches it. You should see a "NICE" come up.

When you are running to a base press B repeatedly.

Star Ball Hit
To hit a pitched ball and use the special star hit, you must hold L and R and push A to hit the ball while holding L and R. (I have tried holding only L and it dosn't work for me).

Fielding the Ball
These tips should help you play better defense:
Dive catches- when you get close to a ball landing press A and you will preform a dive catch.
Luigi superjump- when a character on the other team hits a bottom row homer, and you have Luigi in the outfield, get right up on the wall and press A for a superjump.

Change Character's Color
To change Toad, Shy Guy, Koopa Troopa, Koopa Paratroopa, Magikoopa, Dry Bones, Noki, or Pianta's color move the Player 1 box to one of the characters listed above and press L to change their color. (Colors sometimes apply for some, but not all. For example, you can make Shy Guy into a red, blue, yellow, green, or black Shy Guy but you can make Dry Bones green, red, or blue.)
