Let's remake Ganondorf - Super Smash Bros. Wii U Weekly

This week we're talking about Ganondorf. No, he hasn't been confirmed or cut from the roster, but we wanted to discuss the changes we hope Nintendo makes to the classic character.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U Weekly is GamesRadar's weekly Super Smash Bros. Wii U show. Yeah, we bet you figured that out already. Come back every Wednesday for the latest news, analysis, and speculation about the upcoming brawler.

Well, I think that changing Ganondorf with a move set that accommodates his long range spells and use of a sword is pretty likely if we examine the evidence. Bowser, before a slow and beefy bruiser has been slimmed down and sped up in an entirely new concept and from what we've seen Pit's move set seems a lot more imminent from his Kid Icarus: Uprising game. So, I do believe a Ganondorf change can, and just might happen. Now, if we consider the look of Ganondorf as far as aesthetics go, I think a completely new design for him is very likely. And sure, I love Twilight or Wind Waker Gandondorf and much as the next guy but I just feel they won't happen because of one key factor. In mostly all of the smash bros. games to date, Link, Zelda and Ganondorf have all shared their aesthetic character designs from the same game. And as we can see from Link in Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS, he has his Skyward sword design. So I would assume Zelda and Ganondorf would as well. "But, wait a second! Ganondorf wasn't in Skyward Sword!" Well Demise was and techinically they are the same entity. But I think a Demise Ganondorf is highly unlikely. Instead I think Ganondorf is going to be designed to look like what he would have looked like if he was included in Skyward Sword. And I have proof. If any of you have played Twilight Princess (my favorite Zelda game) you would have noticed that Sheik did not make an appearance. However, all (grown up) Zelda characters in Brawl, including Sheik were designed after Twilight! So, why can't the same be done for Ganondorf? I close my case Caption for the sceenshot: I'M ON MY PERIOD!!! FEEL THE BURN!!!

Ganondorf is far and away my favourite character, even after getting nerfed in Brawl. But after Skyward Sword I can see him getting replaced with Ghirahim. Ghirahim seems a dead cert to be included since he's the most recent Zelda villain but I don't think Nintendo will want so many Zelda characters in it ahead of other series characters. I wouldn't mind if they redesigned him though. WW Ganondorf would mean a change of moves considering the odd body shape, as would Demise. But it'd be cool if they went back to OoT Ganondorf considering the HD remake was the most recent game with him in it.

a character redesign would be perfect, the WindWaker style made his look more evil if possible.

Definitely want Ganondorf to have his own moveset, I don't need any more semi-clones. He's so bad in Brawl that I look at him as a total joke character, which is bad since he's supposed to be evil and intimidating. I like the idea of Toon Ganondorf, it would be so different from the Ganon we currently have.

Nice ideas, im all for it and I wouldn't be surprised given.the.changes Bowser got. Since Toon Link seems to be out, maybe Link between worlds Link will appear?

I would keep Ganondorf as he is, he is actually my favorite character in the smash games, but the idea of the toon Ganondorf sounds pretty cool.

I would love you to talk about Jigglypuff. That pokemon has fallen into my heart after Melee, but now that we've gotten into Gen6 she has gotten much less relevant, With the new fairy type she still has potential, but I am still hoping she makes it to the next fight.

Jigglypuff was pretty much the only character I could finish the final challenge (GigaBowser/Ganondorf/Mewtwo) with. I mean like, AT ALL.

Honestly I'd much prefer Ganondorf to stay in mostly the way he is in Brawl, but then add in "original" Ganondorf who is Demise from Skyward Sword. He would have his giant Dark Master Sword for his main attacks, for ranged attacks he could turn his sword back into Ghirahim who would fly out and attack people, and then he could also have other more mystical attacks thrown in. Demise: http://www.zeldainformer.com/images/news/zelda_skyward_sword_art-33.jpg Other options would be instead having Ganondorf turn into Demise for his final smash, or having Ghirahim in as a new character. Some acknowledgement in terms of gameplay of the Skyward Sword characters is what I really want, and it would make the most sense because not only is it the most recent LoZ but there's also already a Skyward Sword level in the new Smash Bros, so I don't think they'd just stop there.
