Cole MacGrath to look more like he did in the first game

It seems that inFAMOUS fans didn’t like Cole MacGrath’s new look in the recently released gameplay trailer and E3 screenshots promoting inFAMOUS 2. Speaking at Comic-Con panel, developer Sucker Punch Productions announced that they will be redesigning the main character due to feedback they’ve received from fans.

According to IGN, the new Cole is described as “more like the person we played as in the original Infamous and less like the man who was in all those E3 screens and videos.”

they should have DEFINITELY kept the old cole. the new one looks wack as hell. with HAIR haha. the old cole was raw nastiness. in a good way. after playing the first one i cannot picture cole as another way or with another voice as the first one. its like what the hell this new character isnt even cole macGrath this is some bull. and i dunno if i like that new weapon thing either. kinda wack. the normal power is much better. but the enemies and gameplay looked much smoother and a lot better than fighting reapers and dust men that just go back and fourth and hide behind cars and stuff. that was funn and all, dont get me wrong i loved how the first game was played. but the new atmosphere in this game looks better. just kinda ruined with a completely different cole.

Good. It was way too drastic of a redesign. It screamed douchey Nathan Drake. That being said, improving the gameplay should be their main task and concern.

its one thing to say you like the old design better, but continuity problems? people can grow hair and change clothes. changing the voice actor was dumb, as much as i hate super gruff voices.

This pleases me. I deliberately avoided the new trailers after hearing they hand totally changed Cole. It was a stupid idea to completely change the appearence and voice of the lead character for a sequal, and still call him Cole MacGrath! If they hated the design so much why keep Cole at all? The flaws in the first game had little to do with Cole MacGrath and A LOT to do with the dull city, dodgey climbing, and really poor implementation of the hero/infamous stuff. Sort out that and you'd get a damn fine game!

Wow they r stupid its good that there going back to old Cole he was a G for real and his voice put fear and emotion into the game this new voice sounds like a punk, and the new look, is really similar to Nathan Drake, stuff like this ruins a game imagine what would have happened if sly cooper just one got a new voice new costume and became a different animal it just dosent work

Original Cole all the way. New one is too generic Drake, rather than Generic Buzz cut dude. Choosing between the 2 generic evils: I pick buzz cut, I'd rather keep the continuity any day. I got rather into the first inFamous, so breaking that continuity like this could kill the story for me. Any one else agree?

The "new" Cole looked like a total douche. I'm very happy that they're going back to the "old" Cole. Except I guess now he'll be the "new" "old" Cole, right?

@CH3BURASHKA I don't think that fan opinion is a bad thing to take into consideration. Maybe if Ubisoft had done some public opinion testing we would not have had to suffer the horrible Prince of Persia/Godsmack mess. That is as long as they tested anyone over the age of 14.....or at least skipped all the XTREME crowd......ugh.....it's making me angry just thinking about PoP

It's bullshit that they changed him, and even more bullshit that they're caving to INTERNET peer pressure. It's nice that they're actually giving people what they wanted in the first place, but this really speaks to their dedication to the game and the design. I hope the rest of the game isn't also designed by committee.

i don't care about the tattoos and hair, but the voice and those pants... it's almost like he wants to stand out. on the first, he was just a regular dude... with... you know, glowing sparks out of his hands and eyes.
