First Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer could be released with Doctor Strange

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn recently confirmed that the footage some lucky San Diego Comic Con attendees saw (read our report here) wouldn't be going online anytime soon, we now at least have more of how long we'll have to wait for the sequel's first trailer.

Collider posed the question to Kevin Feige, and although the Marvel President initially dodged it he eventually revealed that the trailer "might come the next time a Marvel Studios movie comes out". The film he's referring to here is Doctor Strange - which is released in the US in November - so it looks like we can expect the first footage for Guardians 2 to hit the web in late October.

As for what we might see in the trailer, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Comic Con content appears in the promo. There's also a good chance that the footage will be set to a track from 'Awesome Mix: Vol. 2' too - the first Guardians trailer was set to a remixed version of 'I can't stop this feeling' - and if that's the case, here's hoping it turns out to be just as catchy as "Ooga Chaka"...

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theatres on May 5, 2017.
