Gotham City Impostors launches tomorrow with plenty of DLC (if you have the cash)

Gotham City Impostors, Warner/Monolith's online-only Batman-themed FPS, goes live on XBLA and PSN tomorrow. The game'll set you back $15 or 1200 MSP, whereas some 105 pieces of optional DLC flair carry a total price-point of $220. Just how many clothing options your crimefighting career demands is dependent on how much of an outlay you want to make on the title.

Big-money high-rollers can outfit their counterfeit Batman and/or knockoff Joker with all manner of wardrobe accoutrements, ranging from cycle shirts to cargo pants to in-game mascot characters. Eurogamer reports that the title's European Games for Windows version also includes XP-boosting items for teams and single players alike. The game's pick-and-choose DLC strategy ought to work well with the piecemeal nature of its protagonists' arsenals: check out our preview to get an idea how the game plays, and plan your fashion strategy accordingly...

NBA Jam: On Fire Edition had the "Time is Money" DLC with a similar function. Provided these items are actually available without too much grinding, it's hard to fight the future. That said, why not just go free-to-play and score off the stupid kids with their parents' credit cards? (i.e. iOS style)

You can get all of this in the game with in-game money. They just have the option for people who want it instantly.

Stuff like this used to be in-game unlockables. industry-weary sigh. Still, though. At least it's only cosmetic crap.

Yay Day 1 DLC! The most atrocious form of paid DLC out there as far as I'm concerned. Oh well, back to Skyrim I guess. Bethesda didn't bother to charge me for the high res DLC, it frightens me to think what these guys would've charged me for it.

Those DLC's are on Xbox Live right now. But I'll pass

Took me back a bit when i first saw that EVERY unlockable (save for card customizations, gangs maybe?) can be fast-tracked by just buying with real money, but it's worth noting all these things can be bought with in-game money and tokens you earn over time. Judging by my experience with the beta though, that could take a bit.

So it's like League of Legends then?
