Gears of War 3 Horde Command trailer details DLC with a Southern drawl

After going through one of the shortest delays in gaming history, Gears of War 3’s first real DLC pack, Horde Command, is available now. But just what does 800 Microsoft Points net you? In this new trailer for the DLC, everyone’s favorite dystopian redneck, Dizzy, explains just what’s in this downloadable pack.

Seems like a pretty rich pack of add-ons for the price, with new maps, items and playable characters including Big Rig Dizzy back when the character wore brutally unironic trucker hats. We should mention that if you bought the Gears 3 Season Pass this is included and is available for you right now for no additional cost. How’s this for a first download pack? Good enough or are you holding out for something more single player focused?

Some of the maps seem recycled from UT3.

You don't even have to buy the DLC to play the maps, as long as one of your buddies has it, and host's, anyone can play the new maps, plus they will be giving them out for free to play in versus the day before Thanksgiving. So really unless you want the 3 characters skins and the 2 weapon skins I say save your money.

And the Horde upgrades, and the Single Player campaign, and early access to the maps. Don't care what anyone says, this looks like an amazingly good deal. Definitely on my to-buy list.

what single player campaign? Your thinking of the next DLC which comes out in December and yes, I will be buying that one. and early access to the maps? yea, in private matches but that's it, they won't be added to versus until they are released for free. And, you can even use the Horde upgrades without the DLC, you just can't purchase them or level them up, but you can still use them.

I plan on getting the season pass as soon as I get my MSP from xbox live rewards this month, but seeing as how Epic has announced the free map pack due for release on Thanksgiving, which includes(?) these three maps, this DLC doesn't seem worth $10 on its own.
