What the hell were they thinking releasing Resonance of Fate the same time as Final Fantasy 13? They are sending the game to die just like when Shadow Hearts came out the same time Final Fantasy X did.

I'd have to agree, that most games on this list have some pretty tough competition. However, I feel that a game like The Grinder might do well, considering there's really nothing like it for the Wii. And those of us who've played L4D, if against our own will's were stripped of our PC's and 360's, i think would definately give it a try in hopes of it being sub-par at best. As for Tatsunoko vs Capcom goes, they chose the wrong system. Now, if they figured that, considering it's Capcom vs an unknown force from 30 yrs ago, that they could release it on the Wii and not spend as much time on the production, then ok. BUT, if they want it to do as well as MvC2, they're fucked. Do they even know how much a USED copy of MvC2 goes for? Btw, Mr. Tyler Wilde, remember the article u guys did last year about which force we'd like to see paired up against Capcom? Are we to be held responsible for this?

Some games surprise and actually turn out to be great when little is expected of them. Dead Space, Batman AA. Some of the games on this list might be fantastic and sell kinda well as a result.

FYI, it's not that I don't think Resonance of Fate will fail. It will. Miserably. However, the reasons provided were absolute shit. Yes, RoF is being released on the same day as FFXIII. This is the first, and final nail in the coffin. But, when it comes to being a rip-off of FFXIII, there is absolutely nothing to back up this claim - especially considering that not even the Japanese have gotten a chance to review it yet.

Just like every oter great game on the Wii, The Grinder will die on sales charts. It's sad really, because The Grinder looks like a great game. :(

I don't think a lot of these things are doomed to die, because if someone likes them, their going to buy them, tell their friends, friends buy it, and so on and so forth. If a person is interested in one game, their going to get that if they want to. And honestly, besides the companies, who really cares about sales data?
  • Koouunn - January 18, 2010 3:03 a.m.

dantes inferno wont die even though its going up against bioshock becasue alot of rpg plp r excited for it and will go out and buy the game (especially on teh pc)
  • Dutch - January 17, 2010 10:02 p.m.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. How come they are PS3 games!? I wonder how much money micosoft paid him to wright this article.
  • Mistwalkers - January 17, 2010 8:54 p.m.

Eh, I'm thinking Dante's Inferno will be a hit regardless of the other games being released, it's been highly anticipated and it involves some gorey things that action seekers expect. Haven't heard of the other two so I can't say anything about them.
  • DriveShaft - January 17, 2010 8:23 p.m.

I got Red Dead Revolver at launch, and now after waiting more than 5 years for Red Dead Redemption I hope you guys are wrong about this one.
  • LeeCarvallo - January 17, 2010 7:55 p.m.

I agree with most of those games but you're insane to think that Red Dead Redemption isn't going to be a hit. Rockstar is going to throw in a giant television campaign and by the looks of the first video it looks awesome. And I don't understand how an Xbox Exclusive like Crackdown 2 will stop PS3 owners from buying it.
  • dawurz - January 17, 2010 7:33 p.m.

Re: Red Dead Redemption: If a game from the same genre does not match GTA IV numbers - and "on day one" - it's doomed to failure? Ack - that is some seriously tortured logic. The recent complaint(s) that have surfaced regarding the working conditions at Rockstar San Diego and their possible impact on the game are what have me worried about the state of RDR - which looks to be amazing and has been on my 'must-buy' list since I first saw it.
  • sklorbit - January 17, 2010 7:08 p.m.

i think red dead redemption will sell surprisingly well. its not fair to compare it with gta though, that series is out of reach
  • GameManiac - January 17, 2010 6:28 p.m.

I don't know why, but I get the feeling that this is the video game version of abortions. I honestly doubt that Okamiden will fail, but I've been wrong before.
