First Pokemon game for 3DS, Pokemon Rumble Blast, announced for Oct 24

Announced earlier in Japan as Super Pokemon Rumble, American 3DS players now have confirmation that they’ll be getting their first real taste of 3DS Poke-action this year. A sequel to a popular WiiWare game, Pokemon Rumble Blast hits US stores October 24 of this year. But just what does this pocket monster-filled side game offer?

Much like the original, you collect and battle wind-up toy versions of the adorable beasts, as you match them up for large but simple battles with dozens of the little guys moving at once. Fortunately, this one expands the roster to include all the new fifth gen Mon from Black/White, bringing the total collectible characters to more than 600. Plus the game takes advantage of StreetPasss on top of the standard wireless play, as people you pass on the street can battle your Pokemon without you even knowing it.

Though this isn’t as big as a new main line game, spin-offs like these test the water for the bigger games to come. Just think of this as an experiment… and experiment that’ll cost you around $30.

God. Another spin off I don't want. I really hope we see a game using the Pokedex 3D models soon.

There should be a Pokemon game for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3,yes it seems unrealistic but it's worth going for

@ Budkingbud If you actually took a look at the math behind each and every individual Pokemon, it's ridiculous, so it is not dumb from a academical stand point and If you look at Pokemon's sales over time, It sells a crap load, so it's not dumb from an Economical standpoint. I frankly fail to see your point on how Pokemon is the dumbest crap ever. I also can not tell if your some what poor grammar in your last paragraph is intentional and you were being sarcastic the whole time, or you really just put up a post calling something dumb without checking your post for grammatical errors. (I suggest Google Chrome as an internet browser, it has spell-check.)

@BigKingBud: I bet you've never played a Pokemon game in your life, for longer than one hour. If you did, you wouldn't be dissing it. Pokemon is one of the top-selling game franchises for a reason. I'm not trying to be rude, really, but please pick one up and try it, for your own sake. You'd be doing yourself a favor. @Jonroger15: Actually, Pokemon is developed by GameFreak, and Nintendo only owns 31% of that company, so theoretically, it would be possible if another one of the "Big Three" developers (Sony or Microsoft) stepped in to fill the funding void a break from Nintendo would leave. On the one hand, it would mean we'd finally get the HD console Pokemon RPG we've been waiting for since 1996. On the other hand, it would also probably mean adios to the sprite-based games. So either way, it's a mixed bag.

BKB strikes again. Wiiware game was fun, let's see how it stacks up on the 3DS. Although once Pokemon Gray(?) or whatever version comes out with them sweet 3D models showed off in the 3Dex, the game will change forever.

Hmmmm... not really interested in this. Id rather a new pokemon snap as a spinoff for the 3DS, you could easily use the ds itself as the camera using the gyrowhatchacallit.

The wiiware was mediocre at best. I played a little of it at a friend's house. This will most likely be no better.

@BigKingBud I can't tell if you're trolling or if you ate too many paint chips as a child. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Catch_rate How is this "less advance" then running and jumping in a side scroller?

This looks like a Wii Sports Boxing Clone polished up with Pokemon, which in turn equals huge amount of suckage. I would rather see a spin-off with Pinball or even a Mario Party style theme game. Also, what ever happened to that rumor that a sequel to Pokemon Gale of Darkness was headed toward the 3DS? That would be something worth looking at. Hell...I'd rather see a Mystery Dungeon game than this sack of crap. Does this even have a story line or is it just collecting toys and advancing on? I know it sounds like rambling, but I would LOVE to see another Pokemon Puzzle League...that game was...epic.

honestly, I'll probably get this. I loved Pokemon Rumble on the wii. I know it's definitely going to be expensive for what you're getting from it, but still, it's really fun and addictive.

I may or may not get this game, but I'll keep an eye on it.
  • shawksta - July 20, 2011 4:47 p.m.

I liked the first one. Not only will this new one have all the generations in it, but new modes are coming, i cant wait for this!

@ backwaterrifle. Somewhat is all one word, not two. If you're going to post corrections to people's grammar then you should probably check these things. Cheers.
