Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon trailer: There Will Be Bugs

Having already professed my undying love for Earth Defense Force, I bring more good tidings for EDF fans, a teaser trailer has been released! Filled mostly with enormous spiders, destruction and screaming, the trailer takes place in New Detroit, which we can assume is Insect Armageddon's setting. Given the current state of Detroit, it's unclear as to whether or not this alien bug invasion will be an improvement for the city.

The trailer doesn't give up much other than that we'll be seeing more gigantic spiders and some H.G. Wells' "War of the Worlds" style walkers in addition the regular UFOs from the first game. For those who haven't played the first game, these large walkers and UFOs drop enemies onto the battlefield until you launch enough rockets into their nether regions to prevent them from doing so; imagine the end of the film Independence Day but in every level.

Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon is scheduled for a Spring 2011 release.

not really a big fan of bugs so the fact this game is full of insects, spiders, and all manner of bugs has turned me off but it sounds like an awesome game for those of you not bothered by bugs.

First time I heard about this I thought it was some kind of Wii game for Red Faction (the antagonists in Guerrilla are called the EDF). Now it looks like something much more awesome.
