Above: Ah, memories. It’s 1995, I’m full of teen angst, sophomoric revelations, and am busy trying to look cool with clothes I bought at the Goodwill. I can’t believe I used to like this

January is quickly shaping up to be an excellent month for games. Dead Space 2 is scheduled to release on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on January 25 – and we’ll be adding it to our list of games to play this month along with Little Big Planet 2, DC Universe Online, and Mass Effect 2 for the PS3.

The demo could have used that kind of music. well, I only say that because then it would have scared me less. the demo was very eerie and atmospheric. Up untill the boss fight that had no instructions and the fight with the babies that I only beat by aggroing all of them and running around untill they were all chasing me, then turning around and shooting the gun that sends a wide blast through all bodies. one shot, mob kill. Felt cheap. was better from then.

Song seems to work well with the game in my opinion.

This game is still completely a horror game, but if anyone were to read up and keep up to date, you'd know that they just spliced a bit more action-packed, I'm-a-badass scenarious. I bet all those action scenes are the brunt of all the testosterone-filled action we'll see in the game. Besides, the demo? F*cking scary.

    Billy Corgan makes everything better!

I'll admit I'm not a fan of Dead Space, but this trailer was absolutely positively kickass in every way! Smashing Pumpkins work better for horror games than I once thought. :P

I'm starting to get a Prince of Persia: Warrior Within vibe from this game.
  • Lando81 - January 13, 2011 5:32 a.m.

I find it strange that they're going the "Clerks" route.
  • ThatGuyFromTV - January 13, 2011 4:05 a.m.

It's a good trailer, but yeah, too focused on action over horror. I played the demo though, looks like horror is still in the lead spot there.
  • ChuckB - January 13, 2011 2:17 a.m.

Every single trailer has been a focus on horror and or suspense. This was basically the same route the previous ads went for DC1 yet people are already paranoid? Also: *looks at avy* O_O

    The world is a vampire...

@jtslug ring around the rosie i wouldn't mind carryover saves; i want my uber linegun also about that gamestop ad; the point was to dismember the target, I don't see how a rivet gun can do that
  • mentalityljs - January 13, 2011 12:29 a.m.

For sure, too much focus on action. Games are not movies. Games should never take an idea and stray away from it's origins just to expand it's audience. F that shiznit.

Fuuuuuuuunkadelic each new trailer makes the wait just a bit more tough man this game is gonna be so freakinest awsome
  • NightCrawler_358 - January 13, 2011 12:08 a.m.

DevilDoor is right, its going down the path of Resi 5. I like the whole insane hero thing, and i think that should be employed more, like the Scarecrow levels in Arkham Asylum.
  • GLCoolJ - January 13, 2011 12:05 a.m.

I don't know... I really like this trailer. I think it goes really well with the song.
  • Grif - January 12, 2011 11:59 p.m.

I think DevilDoor is right about this installment being more actiony
  • jtslugmaster08 - January 12, 2011 11:45 p.m.

yeah not a fan of this trailer... I definitely think the Twinkle little star trailer and the other one cant remember right now are much better.
  • SeattleSound - January 12, 2011 11:03 p.m.

Good song, terrible for this game though.
  • DevilDoor - January 12, 2011 10:58 p.m.

Could be a new direction, less horror - more action. To bring in more gamers.
  • Hullonotna - January 12, 2011 10:30 p.m.

This trailer makes the game look to much like an action game then the horror game it really is.
