With all the WWII titles battling for our attention, it’s tough to look through the fog of war games and see which title is the most worthy of your wages. So trust us when we say that Company of Heroes is the one to beat. And today THQ and Relic Entertainment proudly announced that the back-up troops have arrived for its lauded RTS, and we’re not even a little upset by the fact that they’re Nazis.
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts will allow you to jump in to fight with two new armies, the British 2nd Army and the German Panzer Elite. In addition to heightening the single player campaign, with the viscous battle of Cean and fending off one of the largest airborne attacks in history, you’ll be able to incorporate the two new armies with the original four from the first game.

Opposing Fronts will also provide an upgrade to the Essence Engine responsible for the game's lush and immersive 3-D presentation, as well as new multiplayer modes, Microsoft DirectX 10 support, mission persistence, improved vehicle and soldier AI, enhanced physics, and a dynamic weather system not unlike the one seen on Earth. The enhancement to last year's benchmark real-time strategy Kraut-killer will street sometime in the fall.
