Black Ops 2 release date teased by retailer flier?

For a game about secret men secretly doing secret things in secrecy, Call of Duty: Black Ops is pretty bad at keeping its own business hush-hush. First Activision registers blackops2.com, likely continuing Treyarch's review of 1970s face-shooting realpolitik; and now a retail flier surfaces bearing a familiar-looking shadowy army-man and the leading invitation to “return for debriefing” come May of this year.

Assuming the combination of Activision/Treyarch, the CoD font, and Black Ops' interrogation-room motif point toward something Black and Operative, the impending date could well be a reveal for the series' next installment – allowing you to mark your calendars with a clear starting-point for the game's promotional campaign proper. Whether or not you're a series diehard, there's little denying the power of the Call of Duty Hype Factory, so here's looking forward to another campaign of blockbuster bombast and braggadocio. Um, a stealthy one, of course.

Im sure playing Cod removes braincells, the children on that game are just so stupid its depressing, when I was 8 i wasnt shouting profanities at video games and telling strangers that i was raping them. I reckon theres should be a filter that blocks your voice if the pitch is too high. At least that way the children couldnt socialize with other ones just like them, if you have ever been in a party chat with three or more under 12 year olds, you know how dangerous that is.

I've had enough COD for one lifetime.

As much as I like the zombie mode, this is getting ridiculous. How long can one franchise go with milking itself dry? This has gotta stop sooner or later.

The only flaw of Black Ops was the storyline, zombies completely blew my mind especially the expansion packs so am looking forward to the release of BO2

Can't wait! No second chance! I love these games, mostly the guns. I just got a M4 like in the game http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-video-games.htm and they have a bunch of other guns from different games.

Loved zombies, loved Cold War setting and story (modern warfare setting been sucked dry). Just so much more they can put into BO2, so count me excited.

CoD4 - original infinity ward, great game. Everything that came afterwards was just part of Activision's greedy money-making fuck up. It may be cool to hate on 'CoD' now, but the earlier games deserve some respect. Fuck Activision, treyarch, 'infinity ward'. And fuck whiny little kids. Anyway, back to playing Dark crusade.

That was back before they started pouring the milk. Now, everything's all soggy.

I totally agree. It sounds like such a cliche now, but the nuke scene back in Modern Warfare 1 was so intense, I remember myself saying Holy Shit.. jaws wide open, eyes wide. I'd even argue that World at War was a good game, though. I wish that games would go back to World War II or before, it seems like such a waste not to be storming up the beaches of Normandy with the graphics of today.

That's way too early. That's just a couple weeks away. I'd say that this is when the game will be revealed, rather than released.

Another year and another CoD. How on earth CoD fans stay entertained y nearly the same game every year is beyond me. I got bored after MW2.

May 2nd? That's weird for a CoD release.
