It's been an emotional rollercoaster with me and this new SSX, as I'm sure it has been with a lot of you. First a sequel to one of my favourite, long-overlooked series was announced. Then there were rumours of Kinect. Then there was a dark and gritty trailer. Then there was vague back-pedalling when the inevitable shit-storm left EA all sticky and coated with the whiff of barely-digested fanboy hatred. Then there was talk of physics-based. semi-simulation gameplay. Then the dev diaries started to show off what looked a lot like proper SSX.
Now? We have a full gameplay trailer featuring long-standing series staple Mac Fraser. Do we have a happy ending to go along with it? Yes. Some trailers are promising. Some trailers are exciting. But some trailers bring a joyful tear to the eye and make you feel like a big gushy loser. This is one of those trailers.
Now, if EA could release a Kaori trailer next, that'd be just great, thanks.
