:c I love my vita... WHY DOESN'T SONY?
  • brickman409 - August 15, 2014 2:15 p.m.

I might get a Vita just because I feel so bad for it.
  • Cinaclov - August 15, 2014 3:23 a.m.

I bought one the other day on ebay (£120 for the Vita, a 32gb memory card and 5 games, including Tearaway, LBP and Persona 4, I was pleased). The primary reason I chose to however was that PS+ means it makes little sense not to get one if you can get it cheap enough; I get at least two games every month, along with the collection I'd built over a year and a bit and the PS1 classics I'd downloaded over time. I might get Tales of Hearts when it's released, but besides that I doubt I'll actually buy anything else besides maintaining the PS+ subscription (which I would've done anyway). I have more handheld content than I think I'll ever manage to play through, and they're just going to keep on adding to it, effectively for free. So long as Sony keep putting games on PS+, I don't especially care what new stuff is released; I'm set.

It's a shame most of this article was in jest. Here I was, excited and thinking they'd announced a bunch of great things for the Vita. I love the system, myself. Hubby bought it for my birthday last summer, and I loved it so much I bought nearly every game they had for it within two weeks. Then I bought a PS3, PSP, and pre-ordered a PS4. Haha. I had been turned off of Sony ever since the launch of the PS3 (I owned one for two years and never played it in comparison to the 360), and the Vita is what truly caused me to support them again. I also own a 3DS, and I honestly prefer my Vita, though the 3DS is, of course, awesome. Nintendo's handhelds are never anything but. I really, really hope the Vita doesn't die off. It's one of my favorite systems out of the twelve that I own. It's such a shame it's not getting *that* many games, though the games it does get are usually superb. There are lots of proud Vita owners out there that will support almost anything that comes out on it, and I hope the developers know this. The Vita is a great system to "try new things" on. It's what got me into Uncharted, Dynasty Warriors, Sly Cooper, Resistance, and others...three of the listed four (all but Resistance) were games I didn't think I'd enjoy until I wanted to play them just to enjoy my Vita some more, and now I'm a fan. Meh. I don't know; I just hope Sony gets on the ball and revives the Vita from this depression it is lying in. It's a great piece of technology that isn't getting the number of games it deserves. :/

And people say that the Wii U is struggling.
  • Vonter - August 14, 2014 11:24 a.m.

It is struggling, but Nintendo is still caring about it, that's the difference.
  • GameManiac - August 14, 2014 2:12 p.m.

Isn't that the truth. That's why I've had a Wii U since launch day, because of what it has and what's to come that'll make it a must own console. And as for the PS Vita, literally NOTHING on it interests me.
  • Vonter - August 14, 2014 9:18 p.m.

Gravity Rush? Persona 4 Golden? Yeah not much, still, I hope it does get ported.
  • Cruddi - August 14, 2014 7:34 a.m.

I want to get one, but I can't help but feel that it will be a waste of time for me because I am scared the console will become obsolete
  • rivers-v-dela-serna - August 14, 2014 7:38 p.m.

Im buying nexus 7 instead, with free games and cheap games compared to vita.
  • Vonter - August 15, 2014 10 a.m.

Really!? And I don't mean graphically since it is feasible, but do gameplay wise is par with what a dedicated handheld offers?
  • TheGreyWizard - August 14, 2014 7:03 a.m.

The 11th slide reminded me why I love Japan so much.
  • Shayz - August 13, 2014 11:17 p.m.

Unfortunately, my 3DS with extended battery makes for a better paperweight.
  • garnsr - August 13, 2014 10:23 p.m.

I don't know how much time I've put into Terraria on my Vita, which I got free on PS Plus. Just the games I've gotten free have covered the cost of picking up a Vita earlier in the year.

For a moment I was really concerned you were serious... and then I went through the other 95% of the article.
  • Shigeruken - August 13, 2014 8:31 p.m.

You forgot to mention the AAA Japanese exclusives, like Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.
  • NoseyFerret - August 16, 2014 5:04 p.m.

So pumped for that on the 20th. Add me and we can play it: NoseyFerret98
  • Shigeruken - August 22, 2014 4:26 a.m.

Sure man, I'll have some free time to play it next week hopefully.
  • bobob101 - August 13, 2014 7:33 p.m.

The only thing that really makes me want a Vita is those bizarre Japanese games. I was hoping for a PS4 and Vita bundle, but it looks like that isn't in the cards. You really aren't doing Visual Novels any justice either. Just say they are essentially anime you have to click through instead of just watching, and you have the ability to control the outcome of the story as you go. Plus, there is this great feature called "auto scroll" that is a godsend. Try it out some time.
