Over the Hedge trailer (WMV, 8.11MB) - right click to download
Thursday 6 April 2006
Pavement golf, fairway destruction derbys and remote control street races are all in the offing for players of Over the Hedge, Activision's fast approaching cartoon adventure based on the latest film from DreamWorks - and we've got a video showing these multiplayer minigames in action.
Over the Hedge enables players to take control of the urban-dwelling animal stars - RJ the raccoon, Verne the turtle, Hammy the squirrel and Stella the skunk - and explore areas beyond their celluloid adventure. There are furry friends to save and special moves to master, plus there's food to steal from hapless citizens of the local neighbourhood, where you'll be able to team up for co-op quests to stockpile edibles.
The game is due out this May and will hit DS, GBA, PC, PS2, Xbox and GameCube, although the video doesn't feature action from the handheld versions; we'll have to wait to see how Over the Hedge's gameplay is altered to suit the pocket-sized portables.
