After a lengthy game of beating around the bush, Vin Diesel has finally broken his silence regarding his involvement in Guardians Of The Galaxy , and it sounds like he's almost struck a deal with Marvel to voice the character of Groot.
While out promoting Riddick , Diesel shied away from confirming that he'll definitely be voicing the tree-like alien, but he did hint that negotiations were ongoing.
"I guess after watching the Iron Giant , [ Marvel ] had the idea of taking the strangest Marvel character we know and thought what I could do with that with motion capture and the voice," he says.
"It is something that's interesting and it's a really great idea on behalf of Marvel, and now it's up to my reps to allow that to happen."
Diesel also mentions that he originally met with Marvel regarding a new property that could be due in 2016 and 2017, so this could just be the beginning of his relationship with the studio.
