Videogame BAFTAs handed out

Friday 6 October 2006
Last night's ceremony for the Videogame BAFTA awards saw multiple winners in the absence of a GTA title to scoff the lot - with double wins for PS2 giant-killerShadow of the Colossus, handheld joyfest LocoRoco on PSPand multiplatformGhost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

Colossus scooped the Artistic Achievement and Best Action and Adventure Game awards, while LocoRoco won Best Children's Game (we're already writing a strongly worded letter of complaint) and Best Game Character. We would have loved to see the camera pan over scowling videogame men to stop on one of the gurning beanbag LocoRoco's cheery smiles.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter stormed the Best Game award, with a Technical Achievement award riding shotgun.
