Scream 4 gets a full trailer

scream 4

A new, full-length trailer for slasher fourquel Scream 4 has debuted online.

Revealing more about the plot of the film, and better introducing us to the slate of fresh young things lining up to be hacked to pieces, the new trailer is certainly an improvement on the original teaser.

Scream 4 sees the small town of Woodsboro commemorating the anniversary of the murders that claimed the lives of many of Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) friends.

Returning home, Sidney finds herself caught up in yet another murderous spree as a new maniac uses the ’96 murders as a blueprint for a fresh rampage.

Effectively setting us up for a fourth Scream , this new trailer revels in toying with our expectations of just who’s going to bite it – Adam Brody, Courteney Cox Arquette, Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts and even Neve Campbell all seem to have death scenes.

Except we know not to really believe what we’re being shown - clearly the marketing people are having lots of fun messing with us.

Good stuff? It’s visually slick, knows it’s a belated sequel to a finished trilogy, is aware that 10 years have passed and we now live in different, more internet-savvy times and – best of all – has a brilliantly sarky Panettiere delivering a hilarious remake rant.

Bad stuff? Do we really need a fourth film? We’ll answer that when the film opens 15 April.
