Peter Capaldi Used To Think Bow Ties Were Cool Too

Well, at least that's what this photo of post-punk band The Dreamboys (of which Peter Capaldi was the frontman) leads us to believe... This clipping comes from a 1981 issue of UK music weekly Sounds .

If the bloke at the back also looks a wee bit familiar, he probably should. That's a young Craig Ferguson, now the host of American talk show The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson .

The band had one solitary release: a 1980 single called "Bela Lugosi's Birthday" (a nod to Bauhaus's "Bela Lugosi's Dead", perhaps?) Is it better than Peter Davison's theme tune for Button Moon ? You can decide for yourself by listening to it below.

Frankly, the more we find out about Peter, the more we like him. Sorry Peter - grit your teeth, we'll probably run out of this kind of stuff soon.
