Ninja Gaiden Sigma guide

Chapter 14: The Ancient Twin Dieties

The last Rachel chapter is another short, straightforward task. You'll start next to a Dragon Statue, which you should use. From there, follow Doku's spectre through the alleyways. You'll run into a new enemy here - zombie versions of the troopers you fought in chapters 3, 4, and 6. Unlike the zombies in the underground portion of the monastery, these guys are extremely fast! Since the War Hammer is a bit on the slow side, you'll just need to guard, evade, and then counterattack by hitting them really, really hard.

Continue on until you see a building with a cracked door, and use your War Hammer to smash it. Inside you'll find a treasure chest. Take it and head back, looking nearby for an enclosed area with a glowing teleporter inside. Before stepping on the teleporter, search nearby to find a treasure chest full of several different kinds of essence.

You'll wind up in the ruins of the Hayabusa village. Nearby lies a Dragon Statue and Muramasa's shop. Take advantage of Rachel's shop discount to stock up on healing items, then save your game. From here, you can head to the bridge where you fought Masakado in Chapter 2 to take on Rachel's first 60-enemy challenge. This challenge is completely optional, and the item it nets you is purely cosmetic (a change to Rachel's hairstyle), so feel free to skip it if you'd rather finish the chapter quickly.

Head into the main village. You'll want to make your way back to the storage shed where you got the Bow from Ayane all the way back in Chapter 2. You'll fight many of the same enemies here as you did before - they take a few more hits and do more damage with their attacks, but their patterns are almost exactly the same as before. You shouldn't have too much trouble bashing their brains out.

Once you're inside the storage shed, climb up the ladder to the upper area and leap outside again. You may remember seeing a small building on the nearby hill that was blocked by a cracked stone object. You've got just the tool you need now to smash it down! Kill the enemy ninjas in your way and break the barrier to receive a Tablet. Look for the nearby pedestal in this area and place the tablet on it to create a new teleport point.

You'll wind up in the Outer Monastery, where you'll be swarmed by more fiends. Beat them all into a gooey mess to encounter a massive, mace-wielding monstrosity. He brings more small fiends with him, so milk them for essence you can use to power up your charged attacks. After the giant falls, another portal will open up.

Step on the portal, then run after Doku's spectre to face another boss battle. Your chances of actually winning this encounter are slim to none (though you're perfectly welcome to try), and no matter the outcome, you'll go on to a pre-scripted story scene.

That's all for Rachel's game. Let's go back and see what Hayabusa's up to.
