Pacific Rim has released a new poster online, featuring one of the giant robots known as Jaegers, wreaking havoc in the middle of a ruined city.
The new film is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where an invasion by a race of monstrous aliens known as Kaiju has left humanity decimated.
However, there's still some fight in old Earth yet, with remaining military forces employing some serious hardware in the form of giant, human-piloted robots like the one seen in this poster.
Even they are struggling to turn the tide, but when a washed-up old pilot is paired with a green young rookie, the duo form a bond with their Jaeger that may yet save the day.
Directed by Guillermo del Toro and co-starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba and Rinko Kikuchi, Pacific Rim will open in the UK on 12 July 2013.
