With a rumored thirteen episodes left until the show comes to an end, it’s no surprise that the upcoming shortened Game of Thrones season 7 will leave fans wanting more. Maisie Williams, who plays the cutthroat, Needle-wielding assassin Arya Stark, tells TimeOut that season seven ends on “a massive cliffhanger.” Let’s hope it’s an actual cliffhanger this time, as opposed to the eye-rolling bluff that they could possibly leave Jon Snow dead after the end of season five. (No one believed he would stay dead, did they?)
Though the thought of the show ending fills me with a bittersweet joy - I want it to end before it drags on too long, but I don’t want to let these characters go! - for her part, Williams is pumped about the way things are unfolding. “It's just kind of tumbling now,” she told TimeOut. “We've come to the climax and it's rolling down to the end. It's exciting. I really felt like at the end of last season everything was set up for how it was going to end. Every character came to a little junction in their lives. Now we're all going to crash down together to however this show ends.”
