Madden NFL 16 Ultimate Team receives a second batch of draft rookies

Last week’s news of NFL draftees Carson Wentz (pictured) and Jared Goff being added to Madden NFL 16 clearly went down well, as EA Sports has added 33 more rookies to the game’s Ultimate Team mode.

The new set of cards released incorporates a selection of players from rounds 2, 3, and 4, from the Browns #32 pick, defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, down to Oakland’s choice at #100, quarterback Connor Cook.

Dallas Cowboys’ second-round linebacker Jaylon Smith is arguably the pick of the bunch, with a pursuit rating of 95 and play recognition attribute of 97. And that’s just his ‘Gold’ card. (All players are available in two flavours.) Instead nab his ‘Elite’ card and his overall rating skyrockets from 83 to 93, instantly making him among the best D-men in the game.

In the market for a running back? The card to grab is Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans), whose 'Elite' numbers are insane. That’s assuming you’ve not already forked out real money for Dallas’ latest much-hyped first-round hope, Ezekiel Elliott.

Curiously, Cook is the only quarterback added in this second batch, with no place for the Jets’ Christian Hackenberg or Patriots’ Jacoby Brissett – both of whom were taken off the board before the former Michigan State man.

The full list of players added as part of the update can be seen at PastaPadre.

Madden NFL 16 is out now on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
