Here’s why we haven’t seen Spider-Man’s Spider Sense in the MCU… yet

Spider-Man may have a bunch of cool gizmos and gadgets with his Stark-made suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming and, yet, there’s one key component missing: Spider Sense. Director Jon Watts, though, has revealed exactly why we haven’t seen Spidey’s sixth sense – and there’s a very good reason for it.

“I feel like we have seen a lot of Spider Sense in the previous films,” Watts told CinemaBlend, “So we didn't really lean into that as hard as they have in the previous films.”

That’s not to say Peter Parker won’t develop it pretty soon, as Watts explains, “I do think it’s a really interesting thing to explore.” It’s actually pretty refreshing to see a Spider-Man who hasn’t fully formed; the introduction of the Spider Sense will be a nice character beat if (when) it shows up.

Spidey without his Spider Sense is like the Hulk without his ripped-up pants (thank God), or Batman without his growly, shouty voice. Expect to see it, then, when Avengers: Infinity War swings into theaters next year or, more than likely, in the Homecoming sequel in 2019.
