Halo 5: Guardians' Ghosts of Meridian update is now live

Halo 5: Guardians' Ghosts of Meridian update is now live, giving players new maps, weapons, and vehicles with which to wage their endless war of Spartan aggression. The update is available free for all players, and you can even try the upcoming co-op Warzone Firefight mode starting next week.

Ghosts of Meridian includes one new map each for Warzone and Arena modes: Skirmish at Darkstar and Tyrant respectively. It also adds new weapons like Tartarus' Gavel, an exploding gravity hammer, and Hannibal customizations for the Mantis mech and Scorpion tank, not to mention a new assortment of cosmetic armor customizations.

343 Industries plans to kick off the Warzone Firefight beta at 10 am PDT / 6 pm BST on Thursday, April 14, and shut it down at the same time on Monday, April 18. That gives you a long weekend to try out the new co-op mode on the Escape from A.R.C. map, with eight players (and their REQ arsenals) teamed up against five waves of enemies. The mode is expected to launch in full "later this summer".

Speaking of REQs, the limited-time Mythic Warzone Pack will go live along with the beta, and will include ten Mythic single-use power weapon REQs and one Ultra Rare or Legendary weapon or vehicle certification. It will be available through April 21.
