Guardians of the Galaxy gets a Suicide Squad makeover

It's safe to say that the first trailer for Suicide Squad - which was expertly edited to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody - went down a storm when it was released last month. It didn't take long for the trailer to get compared to the first promo for 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, and now YouTuber Robert Jones has paired the visuals of the Marvel film to the soundtrack of the Suicide Squad trailer with fun results. Check it out below...

Guardians director James Gunn made headlines this week when he wrote that Hollywood is "misunderstanding the lesson they should be learning" from the box office success of Deadpool, noting that after the success of Guardians he started seeing "dozens of trailers exactly like the Guardians trailer with a big pop song and a bunch of quips".

We'll never know whether or not Gunn was specifically referring to the trailer for the DC movie, but there's no denying the similarities and the editing in the mashup brings them to the fore. Regardless, this hybrid trailer is really fun to watch and has us even more excited for Guardians Vol. 2 and Suicide Squad.

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theatres on May 5, 2017. Directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on August 5, 2016.
