Fox planning live-action X-Men TV show?

Fox could be about to branch into small-screen superhero storytelling, with Bleeding Cool reporting that the studio is planning a new X-Men TV show.

According to the report, Fox is currently in “deep development” on a new live-action series, with network interest reportedly gathering pace.

If true, the move would see Fox follow in the footsteps of Marvel, whose agreement with Netflix will see a whole host of exclusive series arrive on the channel over the coming years.

It would also seem to fit in with the comments made by Simon Kinberg earlier this week, in which he made reference to a wider plan for an expanded X-Men Universe.

With the forthcoming Deadpool spin-off set to feature as part of a wider X-Men playing field, any new TV show could also figure as another cog in the machine. And if the theme tune is half as catchy as the classic animated series, we’ll be in for a treat…
