First Star Trek Beyond trailer will debut with Star Wars: The Force Awakens

In addition to the release of a certain film set in a galaxy far, far away, next week will also see the unveiling of a couple trailers for some highly anticipated 2016 releases. It's already been announced that the first X-Men: Apocalypse trailer will debut with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and according to The Hollywood Reporter the same will hold true for Star Trek Beyond. Like we needed another reason to see it!

This film is of course the project that JJ Abrams - who directed both Star Trek and Star Trek into Darkness - turned down to direct The Force Awakens, and when you consider that his Bad Robot production company is behind Star Trek Beyond it's less surprising that the film has bagged trailer time.

There's also a good chance that the recently released trailers for Captain America: Civil War, The Huntsman: Winter War, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will also be part of the trailer barrage before Star Wars 7 screenings, so make sure you get to your seat in plenty of time come December 17 and 18.

Directed by Justin Lin and starring Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana, Star Trek Beyond warps into UK and US cinemas on July 22, 2016.
