Ben Affleck's Batman will face off against Deadshot, Joker & Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad

The latest trailer for Suicide Squad featured some intriguing shots of Ben Affleck's Batman, who is set to make a cameo in David Ayer's highly anticipated film. Batman News has some more details as to what exactly Batfleck's screen time consists of, and it looks like he'll be facing off against Deadshot, Joker, and Harley Quinn.

Interestingly, it's Batman's run-in with Will Smith's Deadshot that is apparently the most "emotional" encounter of the three, although the site doesn't go into specifics. The other major Batman scene is the car chase we've glimpsed in the trailers between Gotham's hero, the Joker, and Harley Quinn. In what may disappoint some fans, it seems that "there isn’t much interaction between Batman and the Joker here. It’s mostly between Batman and Harley".

That's perfectly fine at this stage; with a Batman solo film on the way, restricting the Dark Knight's cameo to a brief but hopefully memorable highlight in Suicide Squad as opposed to a more substantial role is a smart move. The supervillain team-up is the selling point here, and the trailers have done a good job of getting us excited to see how the bad guys play off one another. Here's hoping it's an accurate snapshot of the final film.

Directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on August 5, 2016.
