Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys - first look

When brains attack, why not call on their natural enemy? Really, this game appeals to our greater sense of logic. The side-scrolling portion of the game involves more exploration than “run-and-gun” gameplay that we usually see in zombie games. Each teenage zombie has a trick or three they’ve picked up via mortification, whether it’s Fins McGee’s tentacles (that’s what happens when you’re buried too close to the ocean), or Lefty’s detachable arm that comes in handy for reaching high places. You’ll need to swap out all three to get through each level as you carry out the sole mission of zombies everywhere: “Brains…”

It’s refreshing to see a developer take a genre that’s been done to death (no pun intended) and massage it into a whole new experience that just might appeal to more than just kids. With a solid premise and a fleshed-out (get it?) design, Teenage Zombies is looking mighty good for an undead horde. A release date hasn’t been announced as-yet, but likely it won’t be long before the Alien Brain Thingys are invading your DS and when they do, who you gonna call? Teenage Zombies!
