Maybe it was the constant badgering from the press, maybe it was the pressure from fans on the internet. Hell, it could even have been Harrison Ford’s comments about not waiting around forever…the point is, Indy 4 is heading down the pipeline.

The key men behind the franchise have always given the impression that a follow-up to 1989’s The Last Crusade was in their plans but never quite in the works. However, Steven Spielberg has now confirmed that he and producer George Lucas are ploughing ahead with the whip-cracking archaeologists fourth adventure.

“I haven’t given up making entertaining films, but over the last decade I have been making some films that express the respect I have for history,” The Beard spouted to an Israeli newspaper. “I am about to make Indiana Jones 4, which is, as far as I am concerned, the sweet dessert I give those who had to chow down on the bitter herbs that I’ve used in Munich.”

Never mind the unfortunate turn of phrase, The Beard has finally said it: Indy 4 is next…
