Salmon Fishing In The Yemen gets a new trailer

A second trailer for Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor’s Salmon Fishing In The Yemen has been released online.

Replete with talking heads – including the aforementioned Brit stars – it gives us a better feel for the film than the first trailer.

Blunt stars as a PR consult who works with McGregor’s fishing expert to help realise a sheik’s (Amr Waked) dream of holding salmon fishing contests in the Yemen.

Though fishing was never going to be a particularly riveting subject for a movie, the involvement of Blunt and McGregor seems to have vitalised the material considerably.

They’re both on top form here, providing a lightness of touch that might not have existed without their help. There’s also Kristin Scott Thomas impressing as the Prime Minister’s snooty press secretary.

In all, Salmon Fishing looks like a well-shot, gently-told story that chips at the bigger issues by concentrating on the smaller ones.

Salmon Fishing In The Yemen opens in the UK on 20 April 2012.
