Last week it was announced that Vin Diesel and David Twohy would be reuniting for a third cinematic adventure with Riddick, the intergalactic convict.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has uncovered the following plot description for the movie...
Though billed as a back-to-basics approach to the character popularized by Diesel, the script features the character — the most wanted man in the galaxy — left for dead on a barren alien planet, dealing with “trisons” (three-legged bisons) and “mud demons.”
He must then contend with two squads of bounty hunters, one of which ride rockets called jetcycles.
Barren planet? Trisons? Jetcycles? Could this possibly be the best plotline ever conceived? Well, no, but there’s no denying it ticks all kinds of ‘awesome sci-fi movie’ boxes – a sort of cross breed of the first Pitch Black with Alien and Smokin’ Aces .
David Twohy wrote and directed the first two Riddick films, and has long talked about wanting to return to the franchise. Now that he’s been given the chance, it sounds like he knows exactly what he’s doing.
Excited for more Riddick?
