Ladies and gentlemen, we have a full house. Almost.
After news that Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis will be returning for their belated third Ghostbusting adventure, original director Ivan Reitman has confirmed that he will be the one yelling ‘action!’ from behind the camera.
Speaking with MTV at the National Board of Review last night, Reitman revealed that the script - by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, writers of the American Office - is currently going through its second draft.
“They have delivered a draft,” the director said. “We are working our way through another draft… good work is being done and all of us have our fingers crossed.”
He’s remaining tight-lipped about the specifics, though.
“I'm not going to comment on what's in the script and on what Sigourney may or may not have said," he added. “There's some very cool things in the new draft, let's just put it that way.”
Apparently he’s hopeful that shooting will get going sometime in the “next year”, while the 2011 release date still stands.

Great news, though we can't help being slightly concerned that Reitman’s last movie was the underwhelming My Super Ex-Girlfriend . Hopefully the four year break from the director’s chair, not to mention the fact that this is a Ghostbusters film, has rejuvenated him enough for the third ’Busters .
Now where are these newbies we’ve been hearing so much about?
Is it possible to be more excited about the new Ghostbusters ? Throw some comments our way below...
