PS Vita to get public demo at Tokyo Game Show
Put your hands around Sony's new handheld, in September, in Tokyo
Looking to physically touch a PlayStation Vita to your actual skin? You'll have the opportunity in a couple of months – provided you can get to the Tokyo Game Show. Sony's new handheld, formally named at this year's E3, will be available for members of the public to sample and marvel over at the September event. This was the promise of SCE's Japanese president, Hiroshi Kawano, who has also pledged answers to many of consumers' other questions about the device.
TGS, held from September 15 to 19, may see the beginning in earnest of what will surely be an intensive public-awareness campaign for Sony's new handheld. Kawano has made it clearvia the Vita's new Japanese community site that plenty of brand-new demo Vitas (Vitae?) will be available at the show for scuffing and dirtying by the clammy hands of the great unwashed. Between now and then, he assures, plenty of details will be released to answer fans' questions regarding release dates, what happens to old UMDs, 3G carriers, third-party developers and so forth.
