Well, we all love a happy ending here at TF Towers, especially when they include a chap like Gary Oldman.
Old scary eyes is back where he belongs, giving children nightmares as Sirius Black in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix - and if his manager’s glee was anything to go by, Gary must be doing cartwheels.
“Gary Oldman is now set to play Sirius Black in the Order Of The Phoenix,” Doug Urbanski said. “A deal was concluded this morning, and I’m so relieved and happy.”
You may remember we told you a while ago that despite filming having kicked off on the fifth Harry Potter flick, Brit thesp Oldman hadn’t even been approached to step back into Black’s shoes.
“I can't put my mind in the place of the producers,” Urbanski told hpana.com , “but I would've thought that when they read the book, a call to us would've been very high on their list. Obviously, the character of Sirius Black is key.”
It seems Warner Bros may have been shaken into action when Oldman was all but committed to another project. “Last week, we told them that Gary had another movie, and it was just a question of doing a deal.”
Great ploy… although we don’t advise you trying it on your boss.
